Ghanaian train involved in accident
Ghana’s recently acquired train from Poland, intended for the Tema-Mpakadan railway line, encountered an unfortunate accident during a trial run in the Asuogyaman District. The Ministry of Railways Development issued a detailed statement regarding the incident, which occurred around 12:10 pm on Thursday, April 18.
According to the Ministry, the accident happened as the train approached a curve at Km76+100 and encountered a stationary vehicle blocking the rail track, resulting in a collision. Despite activating the emergency braking system immediately, the train couldn’t stop completely before hitting the vehicle.

Thankfully, no casualties were reported from the accident. The Ministry stressed that passengers, drivers, crew members, and onlookers emerged unharmed from the incident, which was a relief amid the unforeseen mishap.
