Two Students Secure Court Injunction To Halt Takoradi Tech. University Exams

Two students of the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) have secured a court injunction to halt the end of the semester examinations of the university.

The second-semester examinations, for now, is in limbo as a result of the injunction granted by the court to two students who were rusticated by the university.

Students Secure Court Injunction and the facts available

According to Kasapafmonline.com the Sekondi High Court, the two aggrieved students through their lawyers secured an interlocutory injunction to stop TTU from undertaking examinations for Higher National Diploma (HND) LEVEL 300 students of the Procurement department.

The injunction secured was confirmed by Kingsley Fredricks a relative of one of the students. According to him, the injunction was secured after attempts to get a fair hearing which is a natural justice requirement in law was unsuccessful. Information gathered by Ghana24.org indicates that the TTU failed to respond to a petition they sent early this month (July) 2021.

The students secured the Court Injunction against TTU after the alleged misconduct. One Constance Asante and other students were handed two semesters of rustication verdict by the school for misconduct, planning a demonstration against the school, unlawful usage of TTU’s school logo, among other things.

The Registrar of Takoradi Technical University Dr. Moses Maclean Abnory indicated that the school is yet to be served the writ. However, the school was scheduled to commence its end-of-semester examination today Friday, July 23, 2021. We will keep you updated on this developing story as and when new information is recieved.
