Students exam success and what teachers do to help
Students exam success is always the joy of every teacher because such success proves the quality of the teacher and his or her hard work. All teachers derive satisfaction when their students do well in an examination.
When a student writes and passes an exam, he/she celebrates with joy and what you hear most often is self-praise (I passed the exam…)
In instances where the student fails, the teacher is blamed for the poor performance of the student by students and parents. However, in the same class, some fail, others pass.
Often, the contribution of teachers towards the genera academic success and the passing of an examination by students is underestimated, not valued, not rewarded, or often less appreciated.
The fact remains indisputable that teachers unlock the potential of students and guide them to prepare for their examinations.
It is very rare or nearly impossible to have a teacher who wants his or her students to fail while sacrificing time, effort, and brainpower to help the students prepare for an examination.
However, if students are to benefit from the efforts of teachers in successfully passing an examination, the teachers will need support from parents, school administration, and the government at large.
There are many teachers out there who are amazingly great at what they do, they turn below average and average students into supercharged and brilliant students.
Their hard work inspires their learners and leaves lasting memories in the minds of their students. This means every teacher has what it takes to get their students ready for examinations.

Because students exam success and what teachers do are critical, teachers assist their learners to achieve more than they can by doing the following:
Teachers must have high expectations of all their learners no matter their performance in the previous exam or mock written. Challenging learners can push them to work hard.

Sharing your genuine consent is key. Encouraging those who failed, or whose performance was below the expectation, is also a good way teachers help.
They need to encourage, motivate and help the student preparing for an impending examination feel part of the class.
This makes students comfortable and feel being accepted and respect. This may even reduce school dropouts.
Teachers who master the subject and topics they teach, prepare for each class and help students to love the subject they teach make students show much interest in such subjects which leads students to further explore more about the subject and build a positive interest and attitude towards it.
When teachers set class targets and involve learners in setting individual or group targets, helps students to “kill” themselves to excel.
According to Bandura, this leased to an increased sense of self-efficacy among students.
Teachers can also help students do well by teaching them how to attempt examination questions of different types.
Teaching this trick helps learners avoid mistakes in the exam hall.
One way to access if students are implementing examination success tricks taught them is to organize a class or monthly tests and mocks so that you can check if your students are doing what you expect them to do.
Discussing mock papers with your class after each mock also helps learners.
When learners bring mock papers from other schools, it is important to help them solve the questions or explain them to them and challenge them to try their hands on them ahead of their discussion in class.
Teachers can also help students do well in their examinations by encouraging students to take their own notes and write down what they understand in the lesson.
Students should be encouraged to have their personal and group timetables for learning.
Some teachers, with the hope of helping students prepare for their examinations, do extra work by organizing extra tuition at no cost to the students.

Also, teachers who help their learners excel do not hide information about the course or topics from the learners.
Students’ exam success is welcomed news for teachers but or failure can give teachers sleepless nights. Hence, they share everything they have to help enlighten their learners.
They are like candles that burn bright to light up the minds of learners for success.
Students exam success and what teachers show the dedication of the educator toward helping the learner to achieve set academic targets.
There have been instances where teachers have decided to stay one or two hours after school just to monitor students learning on their own after school. Such sacrifices are not for fun.

Some teachers also go the extra mile to sit advise and counsel students who are lagging behind or are not serious about their lessons.
Their pieces of advice and help learners to appreciate the reasons why they need to sit up and take their studies seriously.
I remember my teacher telling me “We do not want you to sell dog chains so take your studies more seriously”.

It is important that parents and students appreciate the sacrifices of teachers toward their examinations by also being serious about their studies.
This way, dedicated and hard-working teachers would have the morale to support the support of the learner.
