According to the facts, available, the 2020 BECE jailed WAEC supervisors took pictures of the examination questions and shared them with teachers.

“During 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination for School, WAEC caught 9 supervisors red-handed for taking screenshots of the question papers and sending them to teachers to solve ahead of the examination,” she stated.

Mrs. Veronica Asante disclosed that to ensure 2021 BECE is not leaked, the Council had engaged stakeholders to ensure the successful conduct of the 2021 BECE.

“We are not going to sit there idle this year for examination question papers to leak on social media or supervisors to take screenshots. WAEC is a small organization the larger community must support us,” Mrs. Asante urged.

The spokeswoman for the non-profit-making organization, Mrs. Agnes Teye Cudjoe added that the council has put measures in place to ensure 2021 WASSCE and 2021 BECE examinations for school candidates at the Senior High and Junior High levels do not suffer a similar fate.

The 9 BECE 2020 WAEC supervisors jailed over question papers leakage is expected to deter like-minded persons, students, and examination leaking syndicates in the country.
