Former Member of Parliament for Adentan, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has expressed his suspicion of political undertones in the arrest of Hopeson Adorye, a member of the Movement for Change. He alleged that this was part of an NPP strategy to intimidate voters in the opposition stronghold.

His arrest on May 22 came after his interview on Accra FM, where he detailed the dynamite explosions intended to scare voters in the Volta Region.
