Career Hub, WCI & partners organizes #TEF Application summit
Career Hub in conjunction with #Tony Elumelu Foundation(#TEF), Winners’ Chapel International (WCI, Ashaiman/ Kpone Katamanso Assembly and the Office of the Kpone Katamanso Member of Parliament(MP), has held an Application summit for the year 2022.
The event dubbed: “#TEF Application summit” is a brainchild of Career Hub in Collaboration with the Youth Wings of the winners Chapel international Ashaiman Lebanon Assembly.
It was partnered by the office of the MP for Kpone Katamanso and the Tony Elumelu alumni Ghana Executives aimed at assisting successful applicants to become seasoned entrepreneur.
Themed “#TEF2022 Application Drive And How To Become A Seasoned Entrepreneur”, was attended by both members of WCI and business owners within the area.
Making a statement,
the Career Hub team Lead, Mr. Martin Adator entreated participants to see the programme as a life changing opportunity and make the most out of it.
He further disclosed that participants stand the chance to win $5000 grant at the end of the competition offered by TEF.
The competition will present an opportunity to applicants to pitch their business ideas with the hope to winning the coveted $5000.
“Everyone has the chance to win the $5000 provided you try”, the Career Hub & TEP representative, Mr. Martin Adator assured.
Addressing the gathering, the Resident Pastor, Winners’ Chapel International, WCI, Pastor Callistus Dela Madilo entreated participants to seize the opportunity to add value to their businesses in order to boost their businesses.
The youth, he indicated posses what he termed the strongest energies for development but was quick to add that they however require empowerment to enable them harness hidden talents for personal and national development.
The Resident pastor who also doubles as the District pastor bemoaned the country’s failure to garner the massive youthful exuberance across the country for national development.
“It is a known fact that if you’re looking for the strongest energies for development, it is the youth. What it means is that if the youth are empowered, we will have a stable society and have a future”, pastor Callistus Madilo observed while admonishing the youth on the urgent need to train their talents.
He underscored the need to seek Jesus Christ first to enable them maximize their talents.
“the recent population and housing census(PHC) revealed that Kpone Katamanso District of the Greater Accra Region has a large youth stock, all of whom are seeking ways to keep body and soul together”.
He however, doubted if the country has what it takes to satisfy the needs of the youth.
On his part, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpone Katamanso district of the Greater Accra, Honourable Joseph Akuerteh Tettey (Honourable JOET) who was the special guest of honour reiterated his outfit’s commitment to empower the youth within the district to create more jobs to benefit others as well.
“Entrepreneurship is one of the key ways to develop our country and to be financially stable as individuals”, he noted.
He further reassured his resolved to champion the vision of the Career Hub to reach out to more people.
The 2020 population and housing census, he revealed shows that the Kpone Katamanso district has the highest youth stock aside from Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA) which has two different assemblies.
He indicated his outfit’s resolve to continue the ongoing interventions in the area, aimed at developing their talents of the youth and equipping them to have a livelihood.
According to him, his outfit has enrolled a number of youth within the district in the Donbosco Technical Training Institute while others have been offered employment at companies within the district.
Honourable Akuerteh disclosed that his outfit’s pending Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Fund when launched would cater for its intended purposes.
The skills training, he revealed would cover areas including Fashion designing, Catering services, Cosmetology, ICT amongst others.
He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the organizers of the event and prayed it continued till the youth were fully empowered.
He encouraged the gathering of youth to be committed to developing the talents and not to waste their lives on worthless adventures.
At the end, the District Pastor, pastor Callistus Madilo urged the gathering not to waste their talents on unprofitable ventures since that could destroy their glorious destinies.
He further reiterated that accepting Christ as the Lord and saviour of one’s life delivers from destruction.
