The Ghana Police in a press release has Police denied assaulting protesting SHS students. Just after students of the St. Louis SHS and Kumasi Girls went of protests in the various schools to register their displeasure about the late decision of the Ghana Education Service to cancel the proposed mid-semester break for boarding students, news broke that, the police in an attempt to control the protest from escalating assaulted the protesting students from the Kumasi Girls SHS.
The Ghana Police in a press release has denied assaulting protesting SHS students. The GHS complain about the wrong timing of the SHS Mid-semester break led to the decision by the GES to keep boarding students in school for the mid-sem break.
During the protest, officers of the Ghana Police were called in to provide security at the St. Louis SHS and Kumasi Girls where the students were angry over the midterm cancellation.
