Truck drivers at Tema Port cancel strike.
The Joint Association of Port Transport Unions (JAPTU) in Ghana has promptly canceled its planned strike. The decision, as outlined in a recent statement by the Union, stems from extensive consultations with partner unions from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
The proposed sit-in protest, scheduled to commence on Monday, May 6, 2024, aimed to highlight a range of concerns, notably armed robbery incidents, unwarranted harassment from uniformed personnel, and unjust detentions.
