Bisexual footballer cries for protection; as angry residents wage war against him.
Since the security forces in Ghana shuttered the office of an organization that assists the LGBTQI+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex) community in the country where homosexuality is illegal, some gays have intimated that they are wanted.
One of such victims is Abdullai Mohammed Alhassan whom some enraged Techiman residents have declared war on as they suspected him of being a bisexual.
According to the residents, Abdullai Mohammed Alhassan is a “Demon” who lives among them; hence he must be chased out of the neighborhood.
“We can’t accommodate someone like this in our community. Furthermore, our culture frowns on this immoral act,” they fumed.
The neighbours argued that the area is a Muslim-dominated community and that Islam, too, frowns on such horrific acts.
Abdullai Mohammed Alhassan, who spoke to Ghana24.org admitted to being a bisexual; adding that as a result of this the residents have been threatening and asking him to relocate from the area.

“Could you imagine the youth don’t allow me to associate with them anymore? I’m a footballer but anytime I go for training they don’t even allow me to step on the pitch or play with them.
“I’ve started getting life-threatening phone calls and messages.” To be honest, I’m terrified of living in this nation because life is getting unbearably difficult for me. My life is in jeopardy,” he lamented.
In Ghana, Religious groups such as the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) have also pushed for the government to summon foreign diplomats who support LGBTQI rights activism in Ghana.
