Creative Industry set to flourish Under 24-Hour Economy Initiative, says Dr. Dodoo

The creative industry is on the brink of substantial growth and advancement thanks to the government’s 24-Hour Economy policy, according to Dr. Ishmael Nii Amanor Dodoo, Head of Innovation Finance, Markets, and Partnership at the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Secretariat.
During the launch of the 9th edition of the Africa Makeup and Beauty Fair in Accra, Dr. Dodoo emphasized that the 24-Hour Economy initiative aims to revitalize the economy by enhancing local production, fostering entrepreneurship, and generating employment opportunities.
This year’s fair, themed “Thrive: Nurturing Brands and Innovation in a Changing Climate,” brought together makeup artists, beauty brands, and industry stakeholders from across Africa and beyond, all with the goal of promoting innovation within the beauty sector.
The event featured engaging activities, including live demonstrations and a fashion and beauty show, showcasing the diverse talent thriving in the industry.
Dr. Dodoo reaffirmed the government’s pledge to support local entrepreneurs, particularly those in the creative sector.
He noted that financial assistance would be made available to help these businesses access the capital and resources necessary for growth.
In terms of infrastructure development, he stated that the government would invest in essential facilities such as studios, production hubs, and training centers to bolster the growth of creative industries, including film, television, music, and video games.
Furthermore, Dr. Dodoo highlighted the implementation of targeted programs designed to equip artists and entrepreneurs with the skills they need to succeed in their respective fields.
He concluded by reiterating the government’s commitment to creating opportunities for creative businesses to access both local and international markets, aiming to unlock the full potential of the creative industry and position it for global success.
