STEM will develop the problem-solving skills of learners, develop their innovative and creative minds through practice-based approaches used to teach ICT, Science, and Mathematics. To ensure these benefits and more are realized by students, teachers with interest and background in STEM subjects need to be equipped so they can transfer the knowledge to other educators and students alike.

Benefits of STEM Education to students
STEM education remains a key part of our world in the future. Employment related to STEM education is expected to grow by 8.8% by the year 2020 while jobs that are not related to STEM will grow by 5% according to research. Students who develop a solid STEM background today will be better positioned to get rewarding jobs created by the ever becoming popular new dimension in education. Today’s employees in the United States earned an average of $86,980 in 2019 which translates into $7248.00 per month. This was disclosed by the United States Department of Labor.
The world needs critical thinkers than ever to help solve the world’s ever-increasing and challenging problems. STEM is critical in developing this sought-after skill. Countries are looking for logical thinkers and providers of local solutions to problems that confront their people in all sectors of their economies.
The culture of collectivism (teamwork) in work environments continues to be crucial in leveraging the skills and talents of employees. STEM education provides an opportunity for students to learn to collaborate and build strategic alliances in the field of knowledge. Using team activities to transfer and share knowledge among students would help learners acquire the teamwork mentality for future work.
STEM Education is often a project-based learning approach that gives learners an added advantage to work on hands-on projects such as the building and designing of robots, engines, or computer programs, among others. This helps students to learn the effective use and efficient deployment of resources such as Time, Money, Machines, Materials, and Manpower to achieve set targets.
